<p>All proceeds from the sale of these Goodyear tires will be donated to The NASCAR Foundation to benefit charities that the individual drivers have selected. This is the biggest collection of certified, autographed Goodyear Eagle tires used in a NASCAR race that NASCAR and Goodyear have combined to offer at auction. </p>
<p>Every autographed Goodyear Eagle tire  in the auction will have a certificate of authenticity that includes the driver&#8217;s name and car number, the race in which the tire was used, the driver&#8217;s finish in that race and the tire&#8217;s RFID number. A minimum sale price has been set for each tire depending upon expected interest levels and ranges from $100 to $250; minimum sale prices will be displayed in each individual listing.</p>
<p>A display featuring all 43 autographed Goodyear Eagle tires has been unveiled in the Goodyear Legends of Daytona exhibit at the Daytona International Speedway Fan Zone and will remain in place during the Pepsi 400 Weekend (July 6 and July 7th, 2007). The display includes six Internet-ready kiosks, enabling fans onsite to bid on the tire of their favorite driver. Fans nationwide will be able to bid anytime for the duration of the auction by visiting www.goodyeargarage.com.</p>
<p>Goodyear is the &#8220;Exclusive Tire Supplier&#8221; of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series through 2012. Goodyear has had a commitment to NASCAR since becoming a race tire supplier in the 1950s. </p>

<p>In support of the initiative, the company will run a special NASCAR Day- themed paint scheme on the No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet(R) driven by two-time NASCAR NEXTEL(R) Cup Series champion Tony Stewart as he competes in the April 15, 2007, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway. NASCAR Day pins will be available at The Home Depot stores nationwide starting April 16 while supplies last.</p>
<p>Proceeds from the sale of NASCAR Day pins at The Home Depot will equally benefit The NASCAR Foundation(R) Family of Charities, which is comprised of more than 30 nonprofit organizations supporting children&#8217;s causes, animal welfare and conservation efforts, and The Home Depot&#8217;s national nonprofit partner KaBOOM!(R), whose vision is to create a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A California policeman has been selected as Kasey Kahne&#8217;s &#8220;Assistant for a Week&#8221;; he won the Kasey Kahne Dream Job contest and was named the grand prize winner.</p>
<p>David Metzger from Fremont, California was named the winner after final interviews at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 10. Metzger, a policeman with the Atherton Police Department and a member of the San Mateo Narcotics Task Force, was one of three finalists who traveled to Las Vegas for the judging and the weekend&#8217;s NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race. Metzger was selected for his problem-solving skills, commitment to improving performance, creative thinking and ability to deal with pressure on the job.</p>
<p>The contest, sponsored by Dodge Motorsports, offered contestants an opportunity to be Kahne&#8217;s assistant at the Dodge Avenger 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race on May 12 at Darlington Raceway. More than 20,000 fans entered the contest, held online at www.kaseykahnedreamjob.com. Almost 116,000 people voted for the nine semifinalists.</p>
<p>The top three finalists were:<br />
Kelli Quattlebaum of Greenville, S.C., received the most votes with 33,251<br />
David Metzger from Fremont, Calif., received 20,891 votes<br />
Erin Coates of Dubuque, Iowa., received 13,028 votes</p>
<p>David Metzger said he wants to help make Kasey Kahne&#8217;s life easier and keep him looking good. On the track, Metzger said he would tell Kahne to drive fast and keep all four wheels on the ground.</p>
<p>Fans completed a questionnaire to show why they would be the best candidate to assist Kahne at Darlington. A panel of judges reviewed the applications and selected the best nine for the No. 9. Those nine semifinalists responded to questions submitted by Dodge on video and the video was used on the official website. Fans then voted online for the best contestants.</p>
<p>David Metzger will spend four days at the Evernham Motorsports headquarters in Statesville and work with the Marketing Department scheduling Kahne&#8217;s at-track activities for the Dodge Avenger 500 at Darlington Raceway. Duties will also include working with the marketing and public relations team to get Kahne to all the appearances, media interviews, on-track and NASCAR-mandated responsibilities on his schedule that weekend.</p>

<p>Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. have been immortalized in wax. These NASCAR superstars have been turned into was figures by Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. The figures are being unveiled this week during the grand opening of Neon Garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.</p>
<p>Madame Tussauds Las Vegas has immortalized Richard Petty, &#8220;The King&#8221; of NASCAR, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., currently its most popular driver, in wax today in special ceremonies during the first public opening of the new Neon Garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.</p>
<p>Both Petty and Earnhardt, Jr. were in attendance and participated in the unveiling of their life-sized wax figures. Each wax figure will remain in the Neon Garage for fans&#8217; enjoyment during Saturday&#8217;s Busch Series race and Sunday&#8217;s UAW Daimler Chrysler 400. The figures will then go to their permanent home in the SPEED attraction at Madame Tussauds at The Venetian Hotel Resort Casino on the Strip and join those of the late seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt and four-time champ Jeff Gordon.  <span id="more-172"></span></p>
<p>Rather than driving suits, both interactive figures are casually dressed. The Petty figure appears in his trademark Western hat and shirt, sunglasses, jeans and custom boots. His hat was provided by Kaci Riggs, a custom hat maker for the Charlie One Horse Co. in Garland, TX. Gary Tucker, a custom boot maker in Las Vegas, made his boots. Earnhardt, Jr. is hatless and dressed in a work shirt and Wrangler jeans.</p>
<p>The SPEED attraction at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is dedicated to auto racing. It opened Aug. 23, 2005, with the life-sized figure of the late Dale Earnhardt. Gordon joined Earnhardt in March 2006. </p>

<p>Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and current Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup contender Jeff Gordon has brought out the big guns for a series of online auctions that will benefit The Jeff Gordon Foundation. The auctions will give racing fans and collectors the opportunity to own unique pieces of racing history that have rarely before been made available to the general public. <span id="more-73"></span></p>
<p>The online auctions are being hosted by GoMotorBids.com, the official online auction house of The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Jeff Gordon, Inc., and include a complete set of â€œhat danceâ€ caps from Gordonâ€™s first win at Chicagoland Speedway, one of Gordonâ€™s official helmets, and an authentic race-used Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Budweiser firesuit. All of these items are autographed by their respective drivers.</p>

<p>The set of hat dance caps represents racing history, as they were all worn by Gordon during his first visit to the winnerâ€™s circle at the Chicagoland Speedway after winning the 2006 USG Sheetrock 400. Most race fans are familiar with the â€œhat danceâ€, as it happens in victory lane after every race. The driver and crew members pose for a large number of pictures, changing hats after each shot. <p>Robby Gordon Motorsports (RGM) has just announced that they&#8217;ve donated $20,000 to State University of New York (SUNY) to fund The Century Council&#8217;s Alcohol 101 Plus(TM) program and related alcohol education initiatives. Robby Gordon, team owner and driver of the No. 7 Jim Beam(R) Chevrolet car, presented the donation to school officials prior to qualifying for the NASCAR Nextel Cup All-Star Challenge at Watkins Glen International.  <span id="more-30"></span></p>
<p>The SUNY grant is part of a larger donation given to RGM by Beam Global Spirits &#038; Wine, Inc. and its Jim Beam(R) bourbon brand in support of the Beam Global&#8217;s drink smart(R) responsibility platform, aimed to educate consumers on how to make responsible decisions about alcohol. </p>
<p>&#8220;We are very encouraged by the dedication being shown by Robby Gordon Motorsports and Beam Global Spirits &#038; Wine to educate college students on the importance of making responsible decisions regarding beverage alcohol,&#8221; said James M. <p>&#8220;Adequately addressing the issue of alcohol abuse among college students is a challenge facing higher education systems across the country, and with current enrollment exceeding 414,000 college students, SUNY is at the center of this issue,&#8221; said SUNY Chancellor John R. Ryan. &#8220;Increasing alcohol education programs on SUNY campuses has a great impact not just on students, but on faculty and members of local communities that surround SUNY&#8217;s 64 campuses across the state. This most recent donation will go a long way to help SUNY with its educational efforts.&#8221; </p>
