Privacy Policy

One invisible visitor counter, standard server logs, and nothing else: no accounts, no advertising and no form submissions.

This policy explains what information I Go Cars collects when you visit, and what it does not collect. The short version: the site uses one visitor-counting service, has no accounts, runs no advertising, and has no forms that send your information to a server.

Analytics

I Go Cars uses StatCounter, a web analytics service, to count visits. The counter is invisible; it displays nothing on the page. StatCounter records the kind of information that web analytics services commonly record, such as the pages viewed, the time of the visit, the referring page, the browser and device type, screen size, and an approximate location derived from the visitor's IP address. StatCounter may use a cookie or similar browser storage to tell a returning visitor from a new one. How StatCounter stores and processes that information is set out in StatCounter's own privacy policy.

StatCounter's records are visit-level records. They can show, for example, that a visitor arrived from a search engine, read a vehicle profile and then a buying guide, and left. They do not include your name, your email address or anything you type, because the site never asks for that information. Any IP address information is handled by StatCounter under its own policy; the publisher's interest is in page-level totals, not in individual addresses.

The publisher uses these statistics only in aggregate: to see which pages are read, which are not, and where visitors arrive from. The statistics are not used to identify individual visitors, are not sold, and are not combined with any other data about you.

If you prefer not to be counted, browser settings and common content-blocking extensions can block the StatCounter script. The site works the same way without it.

No accounts, no advertising cookies

The site has no user accounts, no logins, no comments and no newsletter. It carries no advertising and sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It does not use social media tracking pixels. The site's own code sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The StatCounter analytics script described above sets cookies on StatCounter's own domain so that it can tell a new visit from a returning one; your browser's settings for third-party cookies, or clearing cookies, control them.

What the site does not collect

Because there are no accounts, purchases, subscriptions or server-side forms, I Go Cars does not collect names, postal addresses, telephone numbers, payment details, government identifiers or vehicle identification numbers. The site has no search box that records queries, no comment system and no embedded third-party widgets such as video players or social media feeds.

The contact form

The contact form does not submit anything to a server. When you use it, it opens a new message in your own email program, addressed to the publisher, with your text filled in. Nothing is transmitted until you choose to send that email yourself. If you send it, the publisher receives your email address and whatever you wrote, and uses them only to read and, where appropriate, reply to your message or check a correction. Messages are not added to any mailing list and are not shared with third parties.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, I Go Cars is served by a hosting provider whose web servers keep standard access logs. Those logs typically record the requesting IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. They are kept by the host for security, troubleshooting and capacity purposes under the host's own retention practices. The publisher does not use server logs to identify individual visitors.

Your choices

You can read every page on this site without being counted by blocking the StatCounter script or its domain in your browser or a content-blocking extension. You can clear any stored display preference by clearing site data. If you have sent an email to the publisher and would like it deleted, say so in a reply, and it will be deleted from the publisher's mailbox.

Links to other websites

Pages on this site cite and link to outside documents, including state police test books, federal agency pages, statutes and manufacturer guides. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. A link to another site is a citation, not an endorsement.

Children

The site is a general reference and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, beyond what is described above.

Changes to this policy

If the site's practices change, for example by adding or removing an analytics service, this page will be updated and its date will change with it. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
