Terms of Use

The site is an informational reference, provided without warranty and affiliated with no agency, manufacturer or auction platform.

These terms apply to everyone who uses I Go Cars. By reading these pages, you accept them. They are written to be read, and they say plainly what the site is and what it is not.

Information only

I Go Cars is an informational reference on police and government vehicles, the public sales through which such vehicles are disposed of, and the technology and law of traffic speed enforcement. Its content is published for general information. It is not legal advice, purchasing advice, financial advice or mechanical advice, and it does not create any professional relationship between the publisher and any reader.

Nothing published here is an offer to sell a vehicle or a recommendation to buy one. I Go Cars does not rate, rank or endorse any vehicle, manufacturer, upfitter, auction platform, dealer, radar detector or other product. Where a page names an auction platform, it does so only because an agency's documents name that platform as the agency's vendor.

No warranty

The content is researched from primary documents and reviewed against them, but it is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose. Laws change, sale terms change, manufacturers revise specifications and agencies publish new test results. A page that was accurate when it was reviewed may no longer be accurate when you read it.

Test figures are those of the agency that ran the test, under that agency's conditions. Michigan State Police figures, for example, are clean-roof results for vehicles without emergency equipment, and the agency itself warns that equipped vehicles may perform lower. Agency audit figures, such as a city's cost for a vehicle in a given year, belong to that agency and that year. No figure here is a current price.

Before acting on anything you read here, such as entering an auction, buying a vehicle, installing a device or contesting a citation, check the current primary source and, where the stakes warrant it, consult a qualified professional. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or any site it links to.

Trademarks

Product and company names on this site are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the vehicles and products being described. Ford, Crown Victoria, Taurus, Explorer, F-150, Mustang and Mach-E are trademarks of Ford Motor Company, and "Police Interceptor" and "Police Responder" are trademarks of Ford Motor Company. Chevrolet, Tahoe, Silverado, Blazer, Caprice and Impala are trademarks of General Motors. Dodge, Charger, Durango and HEMI are trademarks of FCA US LLC, now part of Stellantis. Harley-Davidson, Road Glide and Pan America are trademarks of Harley-Davidson. Other names belong to their owners.

Use of a trademark on this site does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from its owner. I Go Cars is not affiliated with any manufacturer, any police department or government agency, or any auction platform.

Not a government website

I Go Cars is privately published. It is not operated by, affiliated with or approved by any federal, state or local government body. It cannot register vehicles, issue titles, process sales, look up vehicles or answer questions on behalf of any agency.

Links to other sites

The site links to outside documents as citations. The publisher does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

Use of content

The text and original graphics on this site are the publisher's. Brief quotation with attribution and a link to the source page is welcome, whether in journalism, research, a classroom, a fleet report or an enthusiast forum. Wholesale copying or republication, including reproducing whole pages or large parts of them on another site, requires permission. Quoted material from cited documents remains subject to its owners' rights; government documents quoted on this site are better cited to the original document, which the page names.

When quoting a figure from this site, please quote it with its source and conditions. A Michigan State Police result is a clean-roof result for a stated model year; an agency audit figure belongs to that agency and that year. Removing those qualifications changes what the figure means.

Accuracy limits

The site's accuracy is limited by its sources. A test book can contain a misprint, a manufacturer can revise a specification after publication, and an agency's web page can describe a procedure that has since changed. Where the publisher has found such problems, it says so on the page. Where it has not, the error may persist until a reader or a later review finds it. Readers who rely on a figure for a consequential decision should go to the cited document.

Changes

These terms may be revised. When they change, this page and its date will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change means acceptance of the revised terms.
